Lukas Amler, PhD

Lukas has over 30 years of experience in Oncology research and cancer drug development. He recently retired from Genentech, a member of the Roche group, to focus on consulting projects after 18 years of leading Genentech’s translational biomarker efforts as the Executive Director of oncology biomarker development.

From 1999 to 2003 Lukas held the position of Associate Director Pharmacogenomics at Bristol-Myers Squibb, Princeton, NJ. Before joining BMS in 1999, Lukas lead a research group focusing on the discovery of novel targets and diagnostic markers in cancer as a Senior Scientist at GENOS Biosciences Inc. Lukas received his Ph.D. in 1990 from the University of Heidelberg, Germany and has extensive academic experience in cancer related Genomics from studies at the German Cancer Research Center, Heidelberg and at the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research, San Diego, CA.

Lukas Amler is an expert in translational cancer drug development and companion diagnostic strategies with experiences spanning from research, early and late-stage development, medical affairs to regulatory interactions and has a significant publication record with over 70 articles in peer reviewed journals.
